JAROSLAV JEŽEK
ELKA SERVICE, 1957

This aerodynamically styled porcelain service by the ceramic artist Jaroslav Ježek landed on many Czech families’ tables. After winning the Grand Prix at Expo 58, it became a symbol of the Brussels style, and rightly so, as it could compete with works from the time by Raymond Loewy and Scandinavian designers.
